Scheduling Item Send to the Kitchen

Cart items can be scheduled for auto-sent to the kitchen after a predefined time period. This allows the restaurants to hold items for a specific time, post which those item(s) will be sent to the kitchen automatically without any human intervention. Here are the steps to be followed:

Hold item for a specific time

Items can be held at the cart screen for a specific time period which auto-sends to the kitchen after a preset time. 

  1. Go to the Configurations section in the backend portal.
  2. Search for the configuration – “Position of Hold Ticket Button”.
  3. Set the position of Hold/Send button for any or all of the service areas.
  1. Login to the POS and add items to the cart.
  2. Click the Hold/Send button at the bottom.
  1. Select the item on the cart and select the hold time using the pinpad.
  2. Click the Send button to set the hold time.
  1. Once done, the hold time will start showing on the cart at the bottom of the item.

Items sent to the kitchen

  1. The item(s) will be sent to the kitchen automatically post the preset time. For example, in the above illustration, the items are set to send to the kitchen after 10 min. i.e., at 3:25 am.

Hold items for an indefinite time

Items can also be held for an indefinite time period. To send these hold items to the kitchen, you’ll need to clear the hold first and then send the items manually to the kitchen.

  1. Log in to the backend using your credentials.
  2. Go to the Configuration section and search for “Position of Hold Ticket Button”.
  3. Set the position of Hold/Send button for any or all of the service areas.
  1. Login to the POS and add items to the cart.
  2. Click the Hold/Send button at the bottom.
  1. Select the item on the cart and click the Hold button.
  1. The icon will display on the cart at the bottom of the item.

Send items to the kitchen

  1. Click the Hold/Send button at the bottom of the POS.
  2. Select the items to be sent to the kitchen.
  3. Click Clear Hold button as shown in the screenshot.
  4. Or, to send all the items to the kitchen, simply click Hold/Send and click Clear Hold. Click Yes on the popup to send all the items to the kitchen.
  1. Now tap the Send button at the bottom to send the items to the kitchen.
